A Spiritual Journey to the Holy Cave of Lord Shiva.
The Amarnath Yatra is not just a trek; it is a profound spiritual experience that thousands of devotees undertake every year to catch a glimpse of the naturally formed Ice Lingam in the Holy Cave.
The Yatra typically begins in late June or early July (starting on the auspicious day of Skanda Sashti) and concludes on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan) in August. For 2026, the registration process is expected to begin in April. Devotees must obtain a Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) from authorized doctors before applying for the Yatra Permit.
Distance: 45km. Takes 3-4 days. Preferred for its gradual ascent and stunning views of Sheshnag Lake and Panchtarni.
Distance: 14km. Can be completed in 1 day. A steeper, more rugged climb, but much faster for those with limited time.
