Amarnath Yatra 2026

A Spiritual Journey to the Holy Cave of Lord Shiva.

Planning Your Sacred Pilgrimage

The Amarnath Yatra is not just a trek; it is a profound spiritual experience that thousands of devotees undertake every year to catch a glimpse of the naturally formed Ice Lingam in the Holy Cave.

Yatra Dates & Registration

The Yatra typically begins in late June or early July (starting on the auspicious day of Skanda Sashti) and concludes on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan) in August. For 2026, the registration process is expected to begin in April. Devotees must obtain a Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) from authorized doctors before applying for the Yatra Permit.

The Two Routes: Baltal vs. Pahalgam

Pahalgam Route (Traditional)

Distance: 45km. Takes 3-4 days. Preferred for its gradual ascent and stunning views of Sheshnag Lake and Panchtarni.

Baltal Route (Short)

Distance: 14km. Can be completed in 1 day. A steeper, more rugged climb, but much faster for those with limited time.

Helicopter Services

For elderly pilgrims or those with physical limitations, helicopter services operate from both Neelgrath (Baltal) and Pahalgam. Tickets must be booked well in advance through the official SASB portal. We at Travel Etios Kashmir assist our premium clients with the logistics of these bookings as part of our Yatra Packages.
